FAITH & FITNESS
Mental Well-Being & Purpose-Filled Life
It wasn't until I was about to graduate college that I found myself running every night. It wasn't about getting into physical shape; it was about mental well-being and clarity. I was at a point where I felt fully used and abandoned and had no hope in continuing through life. Every plan I had made was destroyed, but moving my body calmed my mind. After years of "just running", I was encouraged to incorporate weight lifting to improve my running and avoid injury. I then found indoor rowing as an additional way to cross-train. Not everything came into place, but my mental well-being became stabilized, and I found that physical activity made life so much more manageable. Through my own experiences, I've come to believe that mobility and physical activity is critical for every person to live the life that God created for them. Every person has a purpose, and it is our responsibility to care for the bodies God has blessed us with in order to fully live out that purpose.

I recently started working with a personal trainer at the Arc Gym. My trainer Coach Laura, one of our Row House coaches, is getting me together. She's only 5ft tall, but she will work you! My Osteoarthritis is under control - I still have some flares, but I have more good days than bad. Coach Laura is also great about modifying moves and making sure the workouts are challenging but not painful. I know this type of workout isn't feasible for many of us living with Arthritis, but whatever exercise you can do helps.

Working with my personal trainer Coach Laura is amazing! She challenges me every workout, empowering me to be the very best I can be. I appreciate the time she takes to design a program catered to what I need. I am leaner, stronger, and feel the best I ever have!
